These easy simple sponges can be made in minutes for a quick easy delicious desert, can also be converted to a jam sponge by replacing the treacle with jam.
6oz Self Rising Flour
6oz Butter or Margarine
6oz Caster Sugar
1 tsp heaped Flavour shot! we have used Honeycomb flavour however try other delicious flavours to make it your own.
3 Eggs
Treacle, or golden syrup or jam
Mix all dry ingredients and eggs together, not separately.
In a microwave bowl put in as much treacle as you would like.
Pour the beaten cake mix over the Treacle, must be completely covered over the treacle.
Pop in the microwave for 9 minutes.
Then check, if tacky in the middle, pop in the microwave for another minute.
When cooked take out, place a serving plate over the bowl, hold the bowl and the plate tightly together and turn upside down so the plate is on the bottom and the bowl is on top, tap the top of the bowl to release the pudding, take off the bowl asap, so the treacle pours down the cake.
Serve hot with custard or fresh cream.
