Shortbread Base
2 Tbsp Sugar and Crumbs Icing Sugar ( Flavour of your choice – Salted caramel, Velvet Vanilla and Cinnamon Swirl work well )
120g Unsalted Softened Butter
1/4 Tsp Salt
160g Plain Flour
Apple Filling
225g Cooking Apples (thinly sliced)
40g Plain Flour
6 Tbsp Sugar and Crumbs Icing Sugar ( flavour to match above )
1 Tbsp Dark Brown Sugar
Crumble Top
50g Unsalted Softened Butter
55g Oats
50g Plain Flour
95g Dark Brown Sugar
1/2 Tsp Cinnamon (optional)
Crumble Apple Bars are a easy bake recipe that consists of a shortbread base with a apple filling and a crumble top. Once cooled they are easier to cut into perfect bars for eating on the go or at home. I’ve flavoured these with Salted Caramel but other flavours work well too.
Leave to cool before slicing for the perfect bar.
Serve warm with ice cream or custard alternatively eat cold. Eat within in a few days for freshness.
