This decadent flavoured dark chocolate tart has a crumbly biscuit base, a rich ganache filling, and can be topped with fresh fruit. I’m using a small flan tin (8″) as this tart is so rich, you only need a small slice.
For the base I have used lotus biscuits, but Oreos work really well too. If using Oreos, be sure to scrape out the filling and melt with the butter.
I have used a Raspberry ripple flavour shot for this tart, but you could use any flavour of your choice. Take a look at our full range of Natural flavoured Icing Sugars and Flavour Shots here!
Ingredients
- 200ml double cream
- 300g Dark chocolate
- 20g Flavour Shot
- 20 Lotus biscuits
- 90g melted butter
- Optional fresh fruit to top the tart
Method
- Pop the biscuits into a bag and bash with a rolling pin until you have a fine crumb.
- Pour in the melted butter a little at a time, and stir, until the crumbs are well coated but not greasy.
- Tip the biscuit mixture into a loose bottomed flan tin and press down to form an even base, making sure the sides of the flan tin are also well covered.
- Place the base into the fridge while you make the filling.
- Boil the cream, then pour over the chocolate. Leave to melt for roughly 5 mins before stirring.
- Add in the flavour shot, then stir through. If you have any lumps of solid chocolate remaining, microwave in short bursts until completely melted.
- Pour the chocolate mixture into the tart case and pop it back into the fridge to set.
- Once set, you can add your fresh fruit to the top.
- Slice and enjoy your Flavoured Dark Chocolate Tart!
