This decadent flavoured dark chocolate tart has a crumbly biscuit base, a rich ganache filling, and can be topped with fresh fruit. I’m using a small flan tin (8″) as this tart is so rich, you only need a small slice.

For the base I have used lotus biscuits, but Oreos work really well too. If using Oreos, be sure to scrape out the filling and melt with the butter.

I have used a Raspberry ripple flavour shot for this tart, but you could use any flavour of your choice. Take a look at our full range of Natural flavoured Icing Sugars and Flavour Shots here!

Ingredients

  • 200ml double cream
  • 300g Dark chocolate
  • 20g Flavour Shot
  • 20 Lotus biscuits
  • 90g melted butter
  • Optional fresh fruit to top the tart

Method

  1. Pop the biscuits into a bag and bash with a rolling pin until you have a fine crumb.
  2. Pour in the melted butter a little at a time, and stir, until the crumbs are well coated but not greasy.
  3. Tip the biscuit mixture into a loose bottomed flan tin and press down to form an even base, making sure the sides of the flan tin are also well covered.
  4. Place the base into the fridge while you make the filling.
  5. Boil the cream, then pour over the chocolate. Leave to melt for roughly 5 mins before stirring.
  6. Add in the flavour shot, then stir through. If you have any lumps of solid chocolate remaining, microwave in short bursts until completely melted.
  7. Pour the chocolate mixture into the tart case and pop it back into the fridge to set.
  8. Once set, you can add your fresh fruit to the top.
  9. Slice and enjoy your Flavoured Dark Chocolate Tart!
