Ginger and Orange slice is a delicious no bake recipe that uses basic ingredients, takes little time to make, and as little as 2hrs chilling.

I am using Gingerbread Flavour Shot and Orange Zest Natural Flavoured Icing Sugar to make this recipe, but we have many flavours that would make some other wonderful combinations!

Take a look at our full range of Flavour Shots and Natural Flavoured Icing Sugars!

Ingredients

For the base:

  • 225g Digestive biscuits
  • 90g Sweetened condensed milk
  • 90g butter
  • 25g Gingerbread Flavour Shot

For the topping:

  • 50g butter
  • 2tbsp golden syrup
  • 100g Orange Zest Natural Flavoured Icing Sugar

Method

  1. Crush the digestive biscuits with a rolling pin or in a food processor, then pour into a bowl.
  2. Add the Flavour Shot and stir through to distribute the flavour evenly.
  3. In a separate bowl, add the butter and condensed milk. Melt in the microwave, then stir to combine.
  4. Pour the butter and condensed milk mixture over the biscuit crumbs and mix until well combined.
  5. Tip the mixture into a traybake tin, then put down to make a competed even layer. Place into the freezer while you make the topping.
  6. Soften the butter then mix with the golden syrup, then stir in the Natural Flavoured Icing sugar.
  7. If your icing seems too thick, loosen with a tablespoon or two of boiled water.
  8. Pour the mixture onto the biscuit base and spread evenly.
  9. Place into the fridge and allow to chill for at least two hours.
  10. Remove from the fridge 10 minutes before slicing.
