Delicate, buttery, and filled with bursts of sweet fruit, this Fruit Shortbread is a simple bake that never goes out of style. It’s crumbly, comforting, and just the thing to enjoy with a quiet cup of tea. Whether you make it with juicy currants, mixed peel, or your favourite dried fruits, every bite melts in the mouth — the perfect balance of sweetness and nostalgia.
Ingredients
- 110g butter
- 110g caster sugar
- 1 egg
- 200g plain flour
- 2 tsp of Christmas punch Flavour Shot
- 2 tbsp milk
- 75g currants
Method
Preheat oven to 200c
- Beat butter and sugar in bowl.
- Add the yolk of the egg.
- Sift in flour and Flavour Shot.
- Add the milk.
- Turn out knead lightly and roll out.
- Cut of with a round cutter.
- Lay on trays and bake in the oven for 10 minutes.
- Take out coat with egg white that you beaten and cover with caster sugar.
- Cook for another 10 minutes take out let them cool.
