Delicate, buttery, and filled with bursts of sweet fruit, this Fruit Shortbread is a simple bake that never goes out of style. It’s crumbly, comforting, and just the thing to enjoy with a quiet cup of tea. Whether you make it with juicy currants, mixed peel, or your favourite dried fruits, every bite melts in the mouth — the perfect balance of sweetness and nostalgia.

Ingredients

  • 110g butter
  • 110g caster sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 200g plain flour
  • 2 tsp of Christmas punch Flavour Shot
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 75g currants

Method

Preheat oven to 200c

  1. Beat butter and sugar in bowl.
  2. Add the yolk of the egg.
  3. Sift in flour and Flavour Shot.
  4. Add the milk.
  5. Turn out knead lightly and roll out.
  6. Cut of with a round cutter.
  7. Lay on trays and bake in the oven for 10 minutes.
  8. Take out coat with egg white that you beaten and cover with caster sugar.
  9. Cook for another 10 minutes take out let them cool.
