What is a melting snowman meringue?
These meringues are a fun Christmas dessert for kids and Adults!. Made using our Whipping It Up mix in the Meringues and filled with Whipping it up Mousse, finished with more meringue. They are cute and fun.
Ingredients
Meringue Mix
- 250g Whipping It Up – Any flavour of your choice
- 70ml of Warm Water
Whipping It Up Mousse
- 150g Sugar and Crumbs Whipping It Up Mix – Flavour of your choice
- 80ml warm water
- 300ml Double Cream
- Matchmaker sticks
Instructions
Preheat oven to 100c Fan
- Line a baking tin tray with parchment paper.
- Put the 250g Whipping It Up for the meringues in a clean mixing bowl and add the water, whip it up for approx 5-6 minutes or until its reaches firm peaks.
- Snip the end off a piping bag and fit a holed nozzle ready for piping.
- When the meringue is ready fill the piping bag 3/4 full and tie the end, firstly pipe the bottom of the snowman by piping a base and then build up the edges so you have a well in the centre. The mix makes approx 8 snowmen.
- On a New Baking tray, Pipe some blobs that you make by piping a small swirl upwards. Pipe 8 in total these will be your snowman head.
- Place the snowman bases in the oven and leave to bake for 15 mins.
- After the first 15 minutes put the tray of heads in the oven and finish baking for another 20 mins.
- Once they are baked you should be able to lift off the meringue easily from the paper. Turn the oven off and leave them to cool with the oven for 30mins.
- Next Prepare the mousse, In a clean mixing up fit a whisk attachment and whip up the whipping it up mousse until it reaches firm peaks.
- In a separate bowl whisk the cream until it has soft peaks.
- Fold the cream into the whipping it up mix and fold in gently.
- In a new piping bag snip the end of the bag off and 1/2 fill with the mousse. Pipe into the wells of all the snowman bases.
- Draw faces onto the snowman heads and then place one on top of the mousse centres.
- Finally, add the Matchmaker’s arms.
- Keep in the fridge until serving.
